LeanStart

LeanStart is open to small and medium or large companies that are Enterprise Ireland clients or potential clients who have been trading for at least 5 years engaged in manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services.

As an Approved Service Provider, QSI can check on your behalf whether it is open to your company.

What costs are eligible and what is the maximum funding available?

The eligible costs are for Training or Advisory Services provided by expert QSI lean trainers. Enterprise Ireland will provide grant funding for 80% of the project cost up to a maximum of €6,300 (€5,000 grant). This is based on 7 days Training or Advisory Services by QSI.

Overview of LeanStart

LeanStart provides an introduction to Lean concepts and allows you to gain an understanding of what the tools and techniques can do for you and your company in a short, focused engagement. The initiative is designed for companies that are unfamiliar with or lacking capability in business process improvement methodologies. The programme involves up to 7 days support from an external Consultant/trainer working directly with an eligible company, typically over an 8-12 week period.

The goals of a LeanStart project may include;

The introduction of Lean, Agile-Lean or related process improvement principles to a company,

The completion of a specific improvement project to show the value of the approach, and/or,

The development of a Lean / Organisational Innovation roadmap or action plan with a company (this should ideally include an assessment or benchmark of the current situation).

The assignment will follow a methodology set out by the Enterprise Ireland Operational Excellence Team.

LeanStart incorporates an environmental component titled ‘First Steps to Green Competitiveness Guidebook’. Two guidebooks were developed by Enterprise Ireland using a simple set of tools to introduce some basic environmental awareness as part of the LeanStart Programme for Manufacturing Companies and Services/Office based companies.

 Note: Receipt of other grants from Enterprise Ireland may impact on your eligibility for support under this initiative.
