Walsh Engineering Supplies specialise in the supply and after sale service of welding equipment and most products associated with the industry. The company was formed in 1983 by Denis Walsh and since then has become the leading supplier of Welding Equipment to the following industries:

There is a custom-built training facility at Walsh Engineering for the delivery of the Orbital Welding course.

This resource consists of an eight seater conference room with full projector and whiteboard for the learning and written exam element of the course.

There is a separate tailor-made room for the instruction and training of orbital welding equipment.

Within this room, we stock two AMI Arc Machines Model 207 power supply’s, a Model 307 power supply and a new Model 205 demo machine.

We also stock a full range of Model 8 and 9 series weld heads as well as a vast range of cutting, prepping and facing tools from Orbitalum.

This training facility is located in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland, which incorporates a fully fitted service area staffed by an in house team of service engineers.


Mike Keating is a highly experienced Welding Trainer and is certified by ARC Machines UK and Orbitalum in Germany to conduct these courses.

Metrology Systems and Services Ltd.

QSI has teamed up with MSS to provide training in the Laboratory standard ISO 17025: 2017.

The Mass Calibration Laboratory was established in 1998 to calibrate Test Weights in the weight range 25kg to 1mg inclusive. More recently the business has expanded to include a second laboratory for the calibration of M Grade Industrial Weights in the range 50kg to 1,000kg.

The Laboratory operates under the technical direction of Donal O’ Leary, B.Sc. C.P.I.M. A graduate of University College Cork, he has been involved in the areas of measurement, calibration and ISO Quality Standards dissemination since 1983, through his work with the National Legal Metrology Service, Forbairt and N.S.A.I.


Donal O’ Leary, B.Sc. C.P.I.M. is a  graduate of University College Cork.  He has been involved in the areas of measurement, calibration and ISO Quality Standards dissemination since 1983, through his work with the National Legal Metrology Service,  Forbairt and N.S.A.I.

Donal has worked in the area of Average Weights Compliance for more than 15 years, initially as a Quantity Control Inspector and more recently as a Quality Assurance Consultant.

A Registered and Certified Assessor with the Institute of Management U.K. and a qualified ISO 9000 Lead Auditor, he is also an Approved Assessor for the European Foundation for Quality Management Business Excellence Model. Donal is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Black Belt, Accredited by the American Society for Quality.
